Sightings of Dead Fish around Bay Raise Fears of Repeat Algae Bloom Disaster

At least 16 dead fish, including five long-lived sturgeon found decaying on the shore of a Richmond beach, have been reported around San Francisco Bay after a new red tide was observed last week. Scientists said it is the same type of algae bloom that killed tens of thousands of fish in the bay and Lake Merritt last summer.
