Several environmental groups sued the Interior Department Monday alleging the agency dragged its feet in determining whether a fish in the San Francisco Bay should be protected under federal law.
The US Fish and Wildlife Service failed to respond to a petition filed by the San Francisco Baykeeper, California Sportfishing Protection Alliance, and others to list the San Francisco Estuary population of the White Sturgeon as threatened under the Endangered Species Act.
