The Golden Rivet Swim in the 2016 Bay Parade Destined to be one of the classic open water swims on the West Coast, the Golden Rivet Swim is a supported 6.5 mile swim in the Baykeeper Bay Parade on Sunday, May 22, from the Golden Gate to a rousing Jumbotron finish at AT&T Park’s McCovey Cove. It is hosted in partnership with the iconic Dolphin Club of San Francisco.
Timed solo swimmers and timed four-person relay teams can compete for the Golden Rivet swim-speed categories and fundraising category. Open relay teams of any size are also welcome and can compete for the Golden Rivet fundraising category. Registration $100, plus $200 fundraising minimum per swimmer. Support boat required for each team; contact us for assistance securing a support boat. Swim registration is now closed. The Bay Parade is a celebration of a clean and healthy San Francisco Bay. Join hundreds of other participants on Sunday, May 22, for a fun and active day on the Bay. Stand up paddleboarders, kayakers, and boaters are also invited to register for the Bay Parade, and may compete for the Golden Rivet in the fundraising category. Stand up paddleboard, kayak, and boater registration is now closed. Afterwards join the the Bay Parade after party hosted by Anchor Brewing at the Yard SF. Participants get free entry; friends and family receive a ticket to the after party with any $50 donation to a participant’s fundraising page.
All proceeds benefit San Francisco Baykeeper, the Bay’s strongest advocate for more than 25 years. While there are over 1 million rivets in the Bridge, the Golden Rivet symbolizes that every effort, small and large, to protect the Bay is critical to its future as a healthy and vibrant estuary. |
