Shell Settles With EPA Over Violations at Martinez Refinery

Shell OIl Co.'s illegal release of hazardous materials from its refinery in Martinez puts nearby communities and San Francisco Bay at major risk, says Baykeeper Executive Director Sejal Choksi-Chugh. Instead of the minor fine imposed by the Environmental Protection Agency, "the company should have been fined an amount that would have ensured they didn't shirk their responsibility to the public again."
