The owners of a facility that manufactured parts for the aviation industry must clean up metal shavings that are contaminating an estuary in California, under a deal to settle a lawsuit brought by an environmental group.

In addition to the cleanup, the companies must pay $25,000 to the Rose Foundation for Communities and the Environment, and reimburse plaintiff San Francisco Baykeeper $425,000 for the costs of litigation.
