Support the Relay for the Bay
Seven swimmers will relay from Sacramento to San Francisco to raise funds for Baykeeper's work – and a generous donor will match all contributions up to $1,000 in honor of their efforts!
How far would you go to protect the Bay? For seven intrepid swimmers, the answer is 100 miles – the distance they will swim from Sacramento to San Francisco on September 19 & 20. For thirty-six hours, seven members of the San Francisco-based Dolphin Club will relay swim to raise awareness and funding for Baykeeper’s work to protect San Francisco Bay. Make a donation to Baykeeper in support of their efforts, and your gift will be doubled by a matching contribution. Follow all the action through the Facebook Cause and spread the word to your friends!
Join Baykeeper for Coastal Cleanup Day
Baykeeper is hosting a beach cleanup at India Basin Shoreline Park for the 25th Annual Coastal Cleanup Day on Saturday, September 19. We’re partnering with Literacy for Environmental Justice to clean up this neighborhood park along the Bay shoreline, and we need your help! Last year, Baykeeper volunteers collected 900 pounds of trash from India Basin Shoreline Park. Come volunteer with San Francisco Baykeeper for this year's Coastal Cleanup Day!
Speak Up for Clean Water in San José
Baykeeper is partnering with Greenbelt Alliance to host a Community Conversation on water issues and community planning in San José. We believe that clean water and healthy creeks are an important part of San José’s future, and we want to help local residents make this vision a reality through local planning. If you live in the San José area and want to learn more about policies and planning tools that can address key environmental issues, please come out to join the conversation. Visit us online for more information or contact Baykeeper Public Affairs Associate Sara Aminzadeh at email@example.com.
Volunteer for the Solano Stroll FOG Kickoff
Baykeeper is once again partnering with the East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD) to educate residents about keeping fats, oils, and grease – aka FOG – out of sink drains to prevent sewage spills to the Bay this winter. We're kicking off the campaign with an information booth at the Solano Stroll street festival on Sunday, September 13, 10 am to 6 pm. We need volunteers to help spread the word about household tips to prevent sewage spills to the Bay.
